About the Practice

morse-about-usDr. Martin A. Morse is owner, President, and Medical Director of Morse Hand and Plastic Surgery (the Great Falls Plastic Surgery Center) located in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. area. He is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, specializing in General Reconstructive Surgery (with a focus on hand and upper extremity surgery) and Cosmetic Surgery of the Head and Neck. Dr. Morse received both his Bachelor of Science degree and M.D. from Duke University and completed his General Surgery residency at The University of Rochester. Following his fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery in Orthopaedics at the University of Pittsburgh, he completed his Plastic Surgery training at The University of Florida.

Dr. Morse is a Clinical Associate in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Reston Hospital in Reston, Virginia and also has active staff privileges at INOVA Fairfax, INOVA Fair Oaks and INOVA Loudoun Hospitals.

Dr. Morse recently retired as CAPTAIN, Medical Corps, of the U.S. Navy Reserves, where he served as Staff Surgeon in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He continues to treat wounded Marines and Navy personnel injured in Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, he has been involved with both the Fairfax County Tattoo Removal Program for troubled youths in gangs and the Fairfax County Bioterrorism Response Team.

Dr. Morse is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and holds a number of professional memberships in national, regional, and local surgical and medical societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Association for Hand Surgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the AMA, The Virginia Medical Society, and the Medical Society of Northern Virginia.

Jennifer Morse, the practice administrator, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska while serving two enlistments in the military as an intelligence analyst.  She served during the Kosovo campaign, where she worked in the watch center at United States Strategic Command.  She also briefed F-16 and A-10 pilots in Korea for a year, and served as the sole intelligence analyst in Lashkar Gah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan for a Provincial Reconstruction Team in 2005 while attached to the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

After a distinguished military career, Jennifer worked as a contractor for a defense agency until deciding to assist her husband with his medical practice.  She is currently serving as Office Manager, Senior Administrative Assistant, and Billing Manager.

Dr. and Mrs. Morse plan on organizing and continuing to participate in medical missions focusing on cleft lip and palate surgery for impoverished children overseas.
